Shiatsu

With its origins springing from the ancient principles of acupuncture, shiatsu works by stimulating the body’s vital energy flow in order to promote good health. Pressure is applied to parts of the individual's body which correspond with the energy lines. The practitioner uses fingers, thumbs even knees to apply gentle pressure and stretching to the energy lines, know as meridians. This treatment stimulates circulation and works on the nervous system. It releases toxins and deep-seated tension and helps with a wide variety of ailments. It is usual that a patient will need weekly treatment until their condition improves when less frequent treatment may then be appropriate..
